Lauren Copley NAPCP

Lauren’s belief in the importance of mental health and well-being encouraged her to pursue a career in the mental health sector. Lauren believes that counselling provides a safe space, free of judgement to facilitate the client’s growth, and through building a trusting relationship. Her goal is to work with clients to create a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment in which the client can explore and understand issues from childhood as well as life at present.

Lauren has gained invaluable therapeutic experience working with clients from the age of 8 and above at Resolve Counselling Centre, Portlaoise College Secondary School, and a number of other private practice clinics. Lauren holds a bachelors degree in Psychological Studies & English from the University of Galway and additionally holds a Masters Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Lauren is affiliated with the accrediting body NAPCP and abides by their ethical guidelines and attends regular clinical supervision to ensure the best level of care for her clients.

Lauren incorporates multiple approaches in the work that she does. She mainly employs person-centred, humanistic, cognitive behaviour, psychodynamic, interpersonal, art and play therapy. Lauren and her clients work together to explore thoughts and emotions, and how they may influence how the client may be feeling whilst addressing their overall psychological distress.

During sessions, Lauren works towards encouraging self-compassion, learning essential tools for emotional health and wellness, whilst helping clients develop the necessary skills to take control of their lives and learning more about themselves throughout the process.
