Approach:
Anna Kulig is a health psychologist with over 15 years of personal and professional experience supporting individuals with autism and developmental differences. Her experience spans a variety of settings, including schools, day care centres, home-based services and art therapy studio, where she collaborated closely with therapists and educators.
She holds MSc in Health Psychology and HDip in Psychology from University of Galway and is a registered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland. Her research was conducted in cooperation with the Irish Centre for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Research (ICAN), strengthening her understanding of evidence-informed approaches to child development and autism support.
She provides comprehensive, evidence-based, and person-centred psychological support for autistic and ADHD individuals, focusing on emotional regulation, executive functioning, anxiety management, behaviour support, relationship and sexuality education, and guidance for parents and caregivers.
Drawing on personal experience, she brings a deep sense of empathy, understanding, and compassion to her work, enabling her to provide supportive, family-centered services tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.
As a health psychologist she uses a holistic approach to health applying the Biopsychosocial Model of health to provide psychological support for people with chronic health issues (diabetes, obesity, cancer) as well as stress management and behaviour change programmes for various populations.
Anna utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behaviour Change Techniques (BCTs) and mindfulness-based techniques depending on the individual client’s needs. She combines traditional therapeutic approaches with creative and body-based modalities, incorporating art, dance, and yoga into her work with clients.
Her commitment to ongoing professional development is reflected in her extensive academic background and active participation in conferences across a range of mental and physical health disciplines, including: diabetes related research at the School of Public Health in UCC, Autism, ADHD, PTSD, mental health issues.
Fluent in both Polish and English, Anna supports a culturally diverse range of clients, ensuring that care is inclusive, compassionate, and sensitive to each individual’s unique background and experiences.
