Play therapy is a psychotherapeutic approach. It is primarily used to help children between the ages of 4 and 12 explore their inner world and to freely express their thoughts and emotions through play.
Play Therapy takes place in the safe, comfortable playroom at The Hazelton Clinic where the child is able to freely express themselves, whilst the Play Therapist observes the childs decisions, choices and how they play.
The aim is to help children learn healthy ways of expressing themselves and to be able to find new and positive eays to solve problems and deal with difficult emotions.
Play Therapy is useful for children who have or are experiencing:
Serious illness
Domestic violence
Abuse
Anger
Anxiety
ADHD
ASD
Depression
Grief
Trauma
Family Crisis
or any other upsetting change in their environment.
